The check-in and concierge staff made a great first impression. They were professional, helpful and excellent. Breakfast is included and has a decent selection, though the eggs were runnier than we liked and the breakfast staff could have been more welcoming. The hotel is good value, and both the building and lobby have an intriguing character, especially if you appreciate architecture. The rooms and common areas were consistently clean. Our room could have used a proper freestanding hair dryer, since some rooms only have an ineffective wall-mounted hose type, and a full-length mirror would have been useful. The location is superb, right in the heart of Ponta Delgada. We walked everywhere in the centre and only needed transport to go farther afield.

This was my second stay here this year, and I love it. The views vary by room, with some looking toward volcanic domes and others over the picturesque city. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Miguel answered questions before I arrived, and Joanna at the front desk was always sweet and helpful, as was everyone else. Breakfast is included and amazing, and the location is perfect for getting around on foot. There's also a great pizza place nearby that I went to way too many times. I'll be back!

I spent seven lovely nights here in January. The room was comfortable and very clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and set us up well for the day. The hotel is right in the centre but stayed quiet. I tried the pool once. It was a bit cold for a January swim, but I gave it a go!

We really enjoyed our time in Ponte Delgada, and this hotel made a very easy base thanks to its location and amenities. Hotel do Collegio is a fantastic place, stylishly mixing modern looks with authentic historic details from its old stone college.
