Tiago’s thoughtful recommendations were a highlight. He had a detailed list ready, then walked me through it with a map and things pulled up on the computer. I extended my stay for the rest of my time on the island the next day. I’d also arrived before check-in, and they showed me to my room straight away, which was a lovely surprise and made me feel welcome. I stayed in a four-bed women’s dorm, but it was a spacious room with a couch, coffee table, big lockers, and its own bathroom. Everything stayed clean, and there was plenty of room for four. Since it was off-season and the hostel was newer, only one other woman was staying there, and we got along well. The shower area felt luxurious, with lots of hooks and counter space and places to dry things. A little water leaked from the shower base, but it was minor. I was especially glad to find a hairdryer with a diffuser, since I’d left mine behind to save packing space for my curly hair. The kitchen was very well equipped, including pots, pans, and basic seasonings. It was easy to store food in labeled baskets, and there was a shared basket for things departing travelers didn’t want to waste. The dishwasher was a real help after dinner. Staff kept the kitchen, bathrooms, rooms, and shared spaces extremely clean. The manager’s warm hospitality and the comfort and care throughout the place exceeded what I expected. The room felt much more luxurious than a typical hostel dorm. I also use a privacy device to check for hidden cameras, and this place passed with flying colors. I’d absolutely recommend Island Bliss for a stay in Ponta Delgada. Until next time :)

The hostel was clean and cozy, and my room even had a nice little touch, a sofa. The location was good too. Staff were friendly and helpful, answering my questions and sharing recommendations. I’d recommend it and would stay here again if I’m ever back in Ponta Delgada.

The kitchen was the best I’ve come across in a hostel, fully equipped and really well organized. Bathrooms were clean, shampoo was provided, and I appreciated getting both a small and a large towel for free. The lobby had plenty of space to work, and the WiFi stayed fast and reliable the whole time, which was great for remote work. The rooms I used had air conditioning that worked well, and there was none of the usual damp or moldy smell that can be an issue in the Azores. Everything was exceptionally clean, with furniture and equipment in great condition rather than looking dated. Staff were kind and helpful. The manager recommended places to visit, arranged my airport taxi, and even helped sort out a check-in problem with my airline. After staying at a few other hostels on my trip around the Azores, Island Bliss Hostel stood out. I’m grateful for the service and would highly recommend it, especially for digital nomads or anyone wanting a clean, comfortable, dependable place.

Our host Diego was really kind and helpful, and we had an amazing stay. The kitchen was neatly organized, with shelf and fridge space for food, plus a coffee machine, oven, kettle, and microwave. The rooms and bathrooms had everything we needed. We even got two bathroom towels and a beach towel. Best hostel we’ve stayed in!

The staff were the best part, all so kind, helpful, and open to questions. Rooms were cleaned every day, and towels were provided, including beach towels, which was much appreciated. The kitchen was well equipped, everything in the hostel seemed brand new, and the WiFi was fast. The location was convenient too. I couldn’t have asked for more. Thanks, I really hope I get back to the Azores and see you again one day!
