The room was clean, spacious, and well equipped, with a comfortable bed and a large bathroom with a very good shower. We also appreciated the welcome basket and the coffee machine with courtesy capsules. There's no washing machine, but a couple of laundries are nearby. There isn't an elevator, so expect to climb a couple of flights of stairs. The contemporary foyer and common areas are beautifully decorated, and the accommodation is trendy, modern, and good value. It's easy to find and access, close to most main sights, restaurants, and shops. A large free parking lot is about 400m away. The room may have been too spacious for its own good. Some reviewers called it minimalist, and we're unsure if that means minimalist or cheap. Apart from the bed, there was nowhere to sit comfortably after a long day of sightseeing or hiking. A sofa, or at least a bigger dining table with comfy chairs, would help. The TV was also too small for how far it was from the bed. We enjoyed our stay at the Urban Azores, though a few details could make it more comfortable.

We stayed for five nights and have no regrets. The apartment was quiet and clean, and the cleaning lady was very nice. From the airport, it's an eight-minute drive, so just pay the 10 euros for a taxi. I highly recommend renting a car to get around. Mine was $30 a day for an automatic. There's free parking two blocks away, and three blocks up is the biggest mall, Parque Atlantico, with the largest grocery store, Zara, McDonald's, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and more.

The bed in our room was huge, much bigger than a standard double, and the air conditioning worked well, which was lovely after a hot day exploring the island. The staff are friendly and the rooms very clean. You also get a small welcome basket for free, then you can pay for refills.

We were in apartment 2, the one inside, for four days, and I'd happily stay again. It was clean and pleasant, and the welcome basket with breakfast was a lovely touch. The bread was especially good. The air felt damp and stale when we came in, so we turned the AC to dry and cool. The patio door won't open all the way to air the place out, and I think you have to ask for a key. I'm glad I read another guest's review first, since the street side apartments may get quite loud during the day when cars rumble over the stone road.

The room itself was roomy and clean, in a really good location, and the refrigerator worked. I booked it cheaply during the Covid period, so three stars felt fair. A lot of things were flimsy: the toilet seat was thin plastic with a sharp edge that hurt, and the showerhead holder was too small, so I had to hold the head the whole time. The AC made a loud, high pitched sound, but turning it off left the room incredibly humid. Either way, it was hard to sleep.
