Hotel Albergaria Dom Manuel

We spent three days here and got wonderful service for a bargain price. The pool was great and so quiet that we pretty much had it to ourselves. Our balcony looked over the pool, and the view was lovely. The room had comfortable pillows, and the cleaning staff made the beds and brought fresh towels each day while we were out. The place is dated, as another reviewer mentioned, but I think that's part of its charm. Sandro(?) was so sweet and polite, and took really good care of us. I'd recommend it, especially to backpackers looking for a bit of downtime. We're from Canada.

We were on a really tight budget, but the people here made even our short stay memorable. The welcome was the most hospitable we've ever had, and everyone was lovely. The rooms were clean, the pool was great, and the shower had brilliant pressure. It's in a great spot near spectacular beaches and brilliant archaeology. Really fantastic.

The front desk man, whose name I think was Alessandro, was the kindest and most helpful person we've met in Portugal. He patiently answered all our questions and went out of his way to help us get where we needed to go. Everyone on staff was kind and helpful, and the service went above and beyond. We had an amazing stay.

After an Airbnb problem, we needed somewhere available near Benagil caves late at night. They sorted out a reservation without any trouble, and the owner let me see the room before we paid. It was very clean, as was the whole well-cared-for place. The patio had some cute fruit trees. The place is austere, but there's a nice pool and the breakfast was good. My partner's verdict: "I'd say the vibes here are top notch." I'd stay here again if I came back to Benagil caves.
