The price was far too high for the quality of the rooms, and the owner was very unpleasant. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone unless they truly had no other option. We’d asked three months ahead for a two-bedroom apartment for my family of six: my parents, grandparents, uncle, and me. The owner, an older man who had trouble hearing, told us it was ours. When we arrived, he said that apartment was only for four and put us in a one-bedroom instead, despite charging us for two bedrooms. It was much too small, so my parents asked about staying in a suite at the residencial. He agreed, but said it wouldn’t be available until 2 pm the next day. He charged them for an extra night in a basement room with a claustrophobic feel and a tiny shared bathroom. The suite had twin beds instead of a double, which were very uncomfortable. The air conditioning didn’t work well, and the room wasn’t very clean. There was outdoor parking, but the owner hadn’t told us which space to use. One morning he woke my parents by yelling at them for parking in the wrong spot. The one-bedroom apartment was too small even for four people. The bed was uncomfortable, the kitchenette was ridiculously tiny, and the sofa it shared the space with was falling apart. The owner had said it would be fine for four, but it wasn’t. The only good part was the shared pool, although its water was salty ocean water. There was no Wi-Fi, and the shower didn’t work very well. On departure day, he made us leave before 11 am. We pointed out that we’d only been given access to our rooms at 3 pm on arrival day, but he showed no professionalism.

The location is excellent, and the outside of the house is in reasonable shape, though it badly needs renovation. Inside, the facilities are very dated, with furniture from the 1970s. The host is just as old-fashioned, gets reservations mixed up, and causes unnecessary stress.

A friendly older couple run this quiet place. The rooms have a typical Brazilian feel and include a bathroom, fridge, and air conditioning. It’s a handy base for visiting Praia da Marinha or Benagil Cave, with a supermarket and Brazilian restaurant close by.

The rooms are spotless, and the owners are incredibly friendly. It’s peaceful and cozy. My only small gripe is that the terrace kitchen has no cooking facilities. Apart from that, no complaints at all.
