Portalegre Palace

We hope to come back soon. The room was to a high standard, and all the staff were friendly. Breakfast was included in the price and was lovely, with fresh produce. We’d definitely recommend staying here. Visited 5 to 6 May 2025.

The shower and bathroom were enjoyable, and the pool and sauna were quite nice. It’s a lovely hotel in an older building, and I’d say it’s the nicest in Portalegre. The bed felt very firm to us. Ants were all over some parts of the room, and getting moldy fruit at breakfast left me with a general feeling that things weren’t clean. The staff, though, were really nice.

The rooms were breathtaking, and the reception was great. A woman gave us a tour of the place, which we appreciated. I came for a business trip and checked into this beautiful, almost magical hotel. It really is a historic palace. Breakfast was simple, and I’ll definitely return.

We went there for dinner with friends after being told it was a wine bar. There were only a few wines from the list, and the small cheese and meat mix we ordered came without bread. I’d have preferred a traditional tasca with old furniture. To me, it’s a place to sit and leave your expectations outside.
