The hotel feels old, and the balcony sliding door lets in a draft. The bathroom has no fan, the bathroom doors don't close, and the wooden doors are cracked and broken. There's no conditioner in the shower, and the in-room coffee is only instant Nescafé, which never gets refilled. That feels absurd for a place calling itself a luxury hotel. The wifi was unusable, and the front desk staff seemed confused and untrained in customer service. The shower water kept switching at random from cold to scalding hot. It burned us several times and made it impossible to enjoy a shower. For a hotel displaying five stars on its facade, it was very disappointing. Don't stay here.

We stayed for five nights in April in a Seaview suite, and the room was amazing. The staff were just as good. One morning our son didn't come down for breakfast, so they knocked and brought it up to our room without us even asking. From the moment we arrived, they treated us like royalty, just like you'd hope at a five-star hotel. It's centrally located, with the strip and beach right on the doorstep. We can't wait to go back.

Having a balcony over the ocean was really nice, and there was lots of storage space in the room. The beds are very firm. The hotel is quite dated, though mostly clean, and needs repairs, renovations and updates. The price was reasonable, which made it a good deal during the low season.

We booked a sea view room and were very happy with it. The views are fantastic, and the room has beautiful tile floors and wooden furniture. It's not modern, but we don't spend much time in the room anyway. There's a good breakfast selection, and you can choose from lots of restaurants outside the door as well as the hotel's own restaurants. The hotel is right on the beach in Portimao, with stairs leading down to the sand. They're locked at night and need a key. Check-in is at 15:00, and they can look after your luggage until then. Parking is free in a station around the corner.
