This place is far from everything, and they charge you for cabs and other things. I’m still in a dispute with them, with no refund and no accountability, and I’m taking it to court. I would give zero stars if I could. They made racist and ableist comments, including telling my Black friends they shouldn’t bring their “Afro self” to breakfast, even though they were dressed appropriately, unlike guests in robes and slippers. They also left my disabled friend waiting hours for her room, nearly causing her to collapse, and Manuel A told her to sleep on the floor. Pick another hotel. Even a hostel would be better.

The birthday surprise meant a lot: the team arranged for a mini cake to be brought to my room. Maria at the spa reception was especially kind, welcoming, and professional, and her care added so much to the stay. The staff were attentive throughout. Algarve Race Resort in Portimão is a beautiful hotel with striking views of the track and mountains, and a really unique, relaxing atmosphere. I highly recommend it and would gladly return.

You'll need a car here, since the hotel is a long way from everything. The rooms are spacious and clean, and housekeeping does a good job, though some have unusual semi-transparent walls that felt strange. Breakfast gets repetitive, while lunch and dinner were more enjoyable. There’s an outdoor pool, but the water was quite cold, around 20°C, plus a spa with a sauna and a warm indoor pool. We stayed near the Formula 1 track, and it was a decent place overall.

Trying the go-karts was a real highlight, such a fun thrill. We spent five nights at Algarve Race Resort Hotel and had a great time. Our schedule was packed, so we missed the spa, gym, and some other facilities, but the hotel itself was fantastic. The food was excellent, the staff were so friendly, and the atmosphere made it a very enjoyable stay. Overlooking the racetrack gives the place a cool feel, and the peaceful surroundings have beautiful views. The nearest towns and villages are about 20-40 minutes away, so having a car was definitely best. We'd happily come back.
