Alvor is ideally located, in my opinion, and the place is clean and fairly well maintained. The lights are a bit odd, working one minute and not the next. There's air conditioning in the room, and towels are supplied. It's a shared facility, with the kitchen and bathrooms for all guests, but we had no issues and rarely crossed paths with anyone. We didn't cook while we were there, though the kitchen looked well stocked with utensils.

The roof terrace is lovely, a beautiful little suntrap, and the location is perfect, with hardly any noise. I stayed for a week and had a pleasant time. The shared kitchen wasn't a problem since I rarely saw anyone, and got along well with the people I did meet. The room was well equipped, but could use more mirrors and hangers if you're staying longer than three days. It's clean, and the staff are friendly.

The room was pleasant and well situated, with access to the beach and nearby bars and restaurants. The poor review is because the mattress was so uncomfortable that I got a stiff neck and my boyfriend had back pain. Also, in a three-storey building, only one bathroom has a shower, and its light kept failing, more often off than on. During the two days I stayed, I couldn't shower because of that. The accommodation has a lot of potential if those two issues are fixed. The staff are all very friendly, and the location is good.
