Clube Praia Mar

A quiet, comfortable place to stay, with a pool and a modern gym downstairs. Vau beach is only a five-minute walk, and Praia da Rocha is about ten minutes away. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and Uber and Bolt brought food in around 15 minutes. The atmosphere is friendly too.

The location is good and the room is spacious, with a huge balcony. Those are the only things I liked. Hot water is a major problem here, and I heard several other guests complain about it too. You can't take a long hot shower: if one person leaves the water running while shampooing, the next gets ice cold water or has to wait at least 30 minutes for it to warm up again. I tried calling reception, but the room phone wasn't even plugged in and had no cables. My friends in another room had the same dummy phone.

We were on the 15th floor in a gorgeous one-bedroom apartment with a great view of the ocean and an amazing sunset. The balcony was huge, and everything felt comfortable and quiet. Before coming here, my wife and I stayed in the restaurant area of Playa do Rocha, where the noise went on until 4 a.m. or later. We thought being surrounded by shops, markets, bars and restaurants would be ideal, but it was so noisy. This place feels like paradise by comparison. It's a short walk to the water and some really nice restaurants. The manager was very nice when we met him. If you like meat, try All Beef restaurant. Five stars!

The apartment was spacious, updated and gorgeous, and the hotel staff were always friendly and smiling. The pool is huge, so even when it was busy there was plenty of room to yourself. We come to Praia da Rocha every year and usually stay on the strip, but this time we rented an apartment through Airbnb at Clube Praia Mar. I couldn't give it five stars because parts of the complex feel outdated. The elevators are cramped, small and slow, and the main floors have so little light they feel like a horror movie scene. The hot water heater also kept having to reheat while we showered. If those things were fixed, I'd change my rating.
