On our fourth day, the Coral administration replaced the sofa and offered us another apartment. We appreciated the effort, though the alternative had no sea view. The location was the main reason we still had a good stay, with the beach nearby and great views, but don’t trust the website photos. The apartment was badly maintained, with a ripped, filthy sofa, torn curtains, an old bathroom, and dated amenities. At 155 euros a night, we expected much better. We were also charged more than the 150 per night shown on the local information board. The difference was small, but it made us feel even more ripped off. Reception said the boards hadn’t been updated. On day five, a cockroach appeared, and although the board said cleaning was done five times a week, it had only been done once during our stay so far. Never again.

I’d give these apartments minus 100 if I could. They’re horrible, and the pool is just a hole in the ground. Of the staff, Maria Inacia is the only one I can say something good about. The evening receptionist is rude, unprofessional, and a liar, and seems to think everyone is like him. I will never, ever go back to Coral do Vau.

The location is top, close to the beach and restaurants, and check-in was easy. The apartments were nice, big, and clean.

We’d stay again. The staff were great, the apartment was large, and the beach was very close. One of the beds could do with an update.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was excellent. The apartments were spacious, clean, and well maintained. We look forward to coming back.
