We found a dead rat by the pool in the middle of the week, and there was nobody around to report it to. Reception was rarely open, and there didn't seem to be anyone supervising the grounds or pool. On arrival, our first impression was grim: nobody was at reception, so our bus driver had to call the after-hours number at 6pm, which wasn't even after hours. We waited 20 minutes for someone to bring a key. The rooms are very dated, and despite being listed on the booking sites, there was no washing machine. We were told the snack bar was closed because it needed refurbishment under new laws. With kids along, that was a problem, and the nearest shop was a 10-minute walk away. I wouldn't recommend this place, especially for families. Alvor itself was lovely, though, with a beautiful beach and town and some nice little bars and bistros.

The apartment was large, private, clean, and well equipped, and the food, beer, and people were excellent. Getting to town and the beach meant quite a long, hilly walk, which wouldn't suit someone with a disability, though taxis were plentiful and cheap. The lift was out of order, and that was the reason I didn't give it five stars.

The apartments were spacious and clean, but the pool was dirty. There was no reception or food, and town was a 10-minute walk away.

I was there for work only. It seemed peaceful, and everything was close by.

There was no reception area, bar, or shop, and the place had no atmosphere. The pool couldn't be used.
