S. Jose Algarve Hostel

I meant to stay for four nights and ended up staying more than a month. I have no complaints. Tai and Jo run the best hostel in all of Europe, and skipping it means missing a wonderful place to stay and the chance to make great friends. It felt like home, from the cute animals to the staff who were so accommodating and treated me like family. The rooms and bathrooms are cleaned every day. There's a big kitchen and living area with hammocks, and you're just a few minutes from beautiful beaches and bars. Honestly, it's the best hostel I've ever stayed in.

It used to be a restaurant, so the kitchen is great. There's plenty of space in the common areas and a nice porch to sit and relax on. The place is clean and well managed, and it's a homey spot just minutes from the beach at a reasonable price. Highly recommend.

We came as a family of four, with children aged 2 and 5, and stayed six nights instead of the two we'd planned. The staff and hostess were the best part. It felt like being part of one big family. We loved talking, cooking, eating, watching TV and going for walks with them. They were attentive and friendly with the kids, giving them toys and cakes and spending lots of time playing. My children still remember the evening games with Vinni and Pele. The kitchen had everything you could imagine. Our room and the shared areas were clean, cozy and bright. It's the best hostel I've ever stayed in.

We felt so good there that I stayed six nights, even though I'd only planned two. It's near the beach, everything you need is close by, and it really has a holiday feel. The friendly team is happy to help with anything. The beds and rooms are clean, fresh towels are provided, and the kitchen equipment has everything you can imagine. I'm really happy I stayed and will come again.
