Vale da Ribeira Residences

The rooms are modern, spotless, and very spacious, and the cleaners do a great job every three days. We've stayed here before, and it was still a good visit, though this time the pool bar was shut. I'm not sure why, but suspect Covid took its toll. It was convenient to grab a snack or drink there by the pool, so we brought our own instead and probably saved a few pounds. The place is quiet, there were always pool beds available, and you'll need a car to get around.

The pool bar food was very good, and the pool never felt crowded during our stay, even though it isn't huge. We had a lovely week in a really spacious three-bedroom apartment. The staff were very helpful. Since the place hasn't been open long, a few details still need sorting, like leaving a welcome pack and local information in the apartments. All in all, we had a very good stay.

We had ants throughout the house, and the pool bar was closed for half our stay. The pool is pleasant with only around 10-12 people in it, but feels too small when the place is full or close to full. It's also very shallow, only about 1.2 metres at its deepest. The setting is quiet, perhaps a bit too quiet for some.

The pool was the biggest letdown for me: it looked quite dirty and was very shallow, so if a good pool matters to you, I'd look elsewhere. The houses themselves were comfortable, though some basic household items were missing. Cleaning happened only once during our week, and it didn't seem very professional, with some towels changed and others left as they were.
