We’d definitely stay again. Our ground-floor apartment was modern, nicely decorated, spacious and really clean. It had a washer, oven, microwave, kettle, fridge-freezer, bath and shower, plus a TV with good channels and subtitles. Entry was secure, through a gated key-only entrance. There are two pools, and the main one is massive with plenty of sunbeds. The beach, Main Street with its restaurants and bars, and the harbour are all less than a 10-minute walk away. One small thing: in April there was no sun or view from the patio, but the pool stayed sunny until 7pm. In high season, you’ve probably had enough sun anyway.

Alvor’s beach, harbour, restaurants, Intermarche and more are all within a five-minute walk. Even so, the apartment is quiet at night, far enough from the bars and pubs to avoid their noise. Our place was clean, spacious and well equipped. The mattress felt very hard, but the host quickly sorted it out by providing a superb mattress topper. The TV works, though there aren’t many UK options, so bring a Fire Stick or similar if you want to watch Netflix during your stay. I really enjoyed it here, and the balcony in 1a has a great sunset in the evening.

It’s a peaceful place to relax, with public transport stops close by. The property sits between Lagos and Portimao, where there are more lovely spots to visit and nice beaches. Alvor beach is a five-minute walk away, and meals, shopping, the pharmacy and market are another five minutes or less. The pool is clean, and the garden and apartments are big, with all the facilities in good shape. A great location.
