Villa Mariazinha Charming Hotel

We loved this charming little hotel so much that we extended our stay. It’s tucked just around the corner from the beach and boardwalk, with restaurants and nightlife only steps away, yet the place itself feels quaint and full of charm. The rooms and hotel are beautiful, and the staff are friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was included each day, starting with fresh-squeezed orange juice, then charcuterie, fresh fruit, pastries, coffee, crepes and eggs made how you like them. Mohammed was wonderful, and we really enjoyed chatting with him. While we were eating, they made sure our room was cleaned, so everything was in order when we got back. We absolutely loved it here and highly recommend it!

It’s an old house converted into a hotel, with old wooden floors. You can hear every step from guests walking upstairs or past our room. The whole hotel also had an infestation of biting ants. Breakfast was only average, with very little fruit. Two people were serving 20 guests, so we had to wait quite a while. The tables are tiny, and all the food and drinks arrive at once, which leaves everything crowded and unpleasant. We asked a waiter named Mohamed if we could borrow a small spoon to eat yogurt in our room. He flatly refused, saying they’d lost too many spoons. He was also not at all polite when serving us.

The villa was beautiful, comfortable, and in a perfect location, and we had an amazing stay at villa Mariazinha in Portimão. Mohamed, who serves breakfast in the mornings, deserves a special mention. He’s so friendly, helpful, always smiling, and genuinely kind. He made our mornings even better!

The location made it easy to enjoy the beach and nightlife, just steps away, while the hotel still felt quiet and private when we came back. We arrived without expectations and left already thinking about returning. Mohamed and the rest of the staff were gracious and lovely, and made us feel welcome at Villa Mariazinha Charming Hotel in Portimão. Breakfast was far better than we’d expected: fresh-squeezed orange juice, great coffee, charcuterie, yogurt with honey, eggs, and gluten-free bread specially prepared for me after they learned about my intolerance. That thoughtfulness meant a lot. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Portimão!
