The apartment was lovely, spacious, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable, too. The hosts were helpful and accommodating when we asked to meet them early. It’s right in the centre, with everything close by. Just be aware that although it’s described as a hotel, it’s actually four apartments. We’d definitely stay again.
The suite was modern and very clean, though it’s on a busy street. We booked a terrace room, but it looked onto a utility space between buildings, so it would really only be useful for smoking. The large front windows open onto the street, which was quite nice. Cooking facilities are minimal.
The location in the historic district is excellent, near the train station and within walking distance of almost everything. We stayed on the top floor, which has terraces on both sides. The rooms are large, in a long, narrow unit with the entrance in the middle, the bedroom and bathroom at one end, and the living, dining, and kitchen area at the other. The interior looks fairly new and modern. This is an apartment rental with four units in the building, no staff on site, and no maid service. There’s air conditioning, but expect some street noise at night and seagulls. A building across the street is being reconstructed, so there’s loud construction noise during the day. There’s nowhere to leave luggage after the 11:00 checkout. The train station lockers are an option, but go early because they fill up quickly.
I’d warn people before booking. I had a trip to Porto planned and paid the full amount in advance. When my flight was cancelled, I called the hotel twice. Michael was kind and sympathetic, and said I could try changing the dates, which the reservation terms still allowed. I submitted one request, but the hotel rejected it, saying the dates were too far away. I called again for an explanation. Michael apologized and suggested I apply for different dates. Then the owner, Pedro, replied that the cancelled flight wasn’t his fault and that they would neither accept a date change nor issue a refund. Based on this, they don’t seem to care about customers, only the money.
