Apartamento Trindade

Right in front of the airport train, this was a nice, clean hotel with kind staff and a good buffet breakfast. Lots of pubs and restaurants are about ten minutes away. There were a few quiet trams around because it’s a central station area, but they didn’t bother us.

The reception team made a strong impression: friendly, professional, attentive, and helpful with local transport and getting organized. Breakfast was very good, with a well kept buffet and consistently good food, and you can have it in your room. The bathrooms were modern, clean, and roomy. Our room was also spotless, quiet, and spacious, with a practical layout and plenty of room for luggage. The location is a major plus. Porto Trindade Hotel sits right by Trindade metro and train station, the city’s main public transport hub. The old town, Ribeira, the Douro waterfront, restaurants, cafes, and shops are all easy to reach on foot or by transit. There are occasionally homeless people outside the entrance. It may affect the first impression, but they were peaceful and non-intrusive, and we did not feel threatened. It didn’t affect our comfort or sense of safety at the hotel. This is a well run city hotel with comfortable rooms, attractive bathrooms, a good breakfast, and a very central base. I’d happily stay again.

The mattress was really comfortable and everything in the room worked, though it was a little hot for me. The station location is very convenient, the staff were friendly, the towels were changed daily, and breakfast was good. I was pleasantly surprised by the bakery items, since buffet pastries are usually terrible in my experience. These were nice, with enough variety for different tastes. They also included a welcome cup of Oporto wine.

The room was comfortable and the hotel itself is very good, but the front desk agent came across as lacking social skills with guests. She seemed serious and didn’t engage in conversation. Tourists sometimes need to ask general questions about the area, and getting silence in response wasn’t good.
