Aslep, Private Rooms in a Hostel

Francesco and his family are such nice hosts. The lovely Ozzy, their dog, greeted us when we arrived, and Francesco welcomed us and explained everything. The room was clean and tidy, with all the essentials, plenty of towels, and information for exploring the city. The house has a lovely garden and is conveniently located, not far from the city centre or the metro.

It was our first holiday in Portugal, and Helen and I had a lovely time. The place was clean, tidy, and well maintained. We hadn’t realized how hilly it would be! The cafe at the end of the street was small but well stocked. Thank you for your hospitality, Francesco, Elena, your 2 girls, and Ozzy. We both wish you all the best.

Francesco and Elena turned my Erasmus time in Porto into the best period of my life. I arrived without anywhere to stay, and this young couple took me in. I started out as another person living in their house, but we grew close quickly and became friends. They put their hearts into every student’s story, rather than treating it as just an owner-tenant arrangement. I feel lucky to have written my story alongside theirs. They’re a beautiful family, Francesco, Elena, their two sweet little girls, and Ozzy, their very nice black Labrador. They felt like family to me. They always helped with anything I needed and never asked for anything in return. They welcome everyone with kindness and warmth. Treat the home and hosts with respect, and they’ll treat you the same. It’s a home for everyone who stays there. The place is comfortable, pleasant, and clean, and each guest has their own privacy. A poster by the door says it best: ‘You come as a guest, you leave as a friend’. I didn’t understand it when I first arrived, but the meaning became clear with time. I’m grateful for all they’ve done for me and every guest who’s come through their cozy house. They’re amazing, and I wish them the best in everything. I hope I get to return to Porto one day and visit my friends Elena and Francesco again.
