There was plenty of room to read, relax, chat, or just do nothing, and you can join meditation or yoga classes across the corridor. The owners even made it possible for us to check in after 6:30 pm when we were running late. The room was lovely, sweet, spotless, and well looked after, with snacks, a coffee machine, and beautiful bathroom tiles. The place itself surprised me with how pretty it was. The beach is only 2 km away, lively, and good for surfing, football, volleyball, or food with an ocean view. The city center is around 5-7 km away, but Bolt and Uber are quick and cheap, and public transport is close by. It was better in many ways than places I’ve stayed in Switzerland and the USA. We stayed in the basement room, which had no natural light. Its only windows and a door opened onto another room that wasn’t part of our reservation. The bathroom was private, but outside the bedroom, and both it and the room could have been cleaner. The worst part was finding several centipede-like bugs in our room and the living room. One might have been understandable, but there were more. It wasn’t a good experience.

I didn’t know anyone there, but I felt at home, and the atmosphere was so positive. The Fundação where I was attending a conference was close enough to walk to. I’d recommend it.

The room was welcoming and really comfortable, and the place itself is fantastic. The warmth, helpfulness, and hospitality left me at a loss for words.
