Catarina Serviced Apartments

We couldn’t get into the building when we arrived on Nov 3, around 16:10. The rental listing said reception would be staffed until 18:00, but there was nobody there. A notice on the door listed phone numbers for problems and emergencies. We called each one and got no answer, then emailed for help and heard nothing. We kept trying until 20:00, then had to find somewhere else, just down the street at Casual Raizes hotel. The next morning, nov 04, we tried to contact the apartment manager again. Around 12:00 we finally got an email with the entry codes. Once inside, we spoke with three other tenants who’d had the same access problem and the same poor communication from the management company. The host blamed us for the mixup and wouldn’t refund the lost night. The others we met got the same response. The management firm is called Hostwise. The apartment itself is comfortable, but the management team are pathetic. They take no responsibility and prefer to blame tenants for their lack of communication. Like many other tenants, we found the service terrible. There are plenty of places to stay in Porto, so save yourself the hassle and spend your money and time somewhere else.

Both apartments we rented were fantastic: clean, stylish, and in excellent locations. The service was top-notch. Two more friends joined us for the last day and loved it too. All six of us can’t wait to return to Porto and stay here again.

The area is great for getting around, eating, and shopping, and we’ll definitely stay here again. The apartment with Terrace view was exceptional, quiet, and comfortable. Daniela the receptionist was kind and professional, and welcomed us with good assistance. The stay made our visit to Porto so enjoyable. Totally recommended.

A good apartment on Santa Catarina st, where you can stay away from the crowds. It can be a bit challenging without a reception, though. You have to call, and they aren’t available all the time.
