D&S - Porto São Bento Apartments I

The location is great, but the AI-based service was pretty poor. The human staff were absolutely fine with me, but that doesn't help enough when problems come up. I'd skip breakfast too, it isn't worth a penny.

I had a clean room and my own bathroom, with a simple, modern layout. The best part is the location, right behind the famous SÃO BENTO train station and within walking distance of all the interesting downtown sights. Perfect for a day or two in Porto!

The room had mold and mildew on the bathroom ceiling, and since I'm allergic I had to sleep with the balcony door open. Trains screeching into the nearby station and occasional loud, mysterious beeps kept me company all night. There was no real staff to turn to, just AI sending polite, pre-programmed replies. When I tried to change rooms for health reasons, I couldn't reach anyone, and the WhatsApp number in the room might as well have been wall decoration. The price wasn't lower than much nicer places I'd stayed in Porto, all just as easy a 15-minute walk from the center. Being "right in the middle" didn't make the mold, noise, and lack of human help worth it. If you enjoy those things and chatting with robots, this is your spot. Otherwise, look elsewhere.

If listening to people scream through the night sounds good, you'd love it here. We barely slept. The shower was half covered in mold, and we couldn't shut the window because we still needed to breathe. Great for chaos and fungi, maybe, but otherwise I'd look elsewhere.
