I was travelling alone and had a great stay. The rooms were spotless and quiet at night since the hostel is a little outside the centre, though everything was still walkable. Even taking a late shower, I found the water just as hot as earlier in the day. The kitchen and breakfast were excellent, and the staff were friendly and really attentive. I'd happily recommend it.

For what it costs, the value was hard to beat. The place was clean and comfortable, breakfast was decent, and the staff were very welcoming and pointed us toward some nice spots. The city centre was no more than a 10-minute walk away.

I had a really good time here and met some great people. The hostel is about a 10-15 minute walk from the main centre, which makes the area fairly quiet. There's a spacious kitchen and a hangout room, plus a bar where you can play games or have a drink with others. The staff were friendly and spoke English very well. The bathrooms weren't always properly clean, and toilet paper sometimes ran out, but those things could be fixed. For me, this is the best hostel in Porto.

The place was definitely worth the price, and I'd stay again if I came back. Getting around was easy on foot or by public transport. It took 30-40 minutes to reach the hostel from the airport around midnight using PT. The common areas were comfortable, with indoor couches and outdoor seating, and the breakfast was alright. The beds were comfy and the rooms were cleaned regularly, though the top bunk seemed a little loose. There was an amazing snorer in our room, too. Our room didn't have its own bathroom. I think there were four rooms on the floor, ours with eight beds, and everyone shared two toilets and three showers. It wasn't an issue during my stay, but I could see a queue during busy season. A couple of sinks in the washing area weren't working and need maintenance. I only saw one fridge for the whole place, and it was pretty full. I would've liked the hostel to put on events. There weren't any while I was there, and the atmosphere could've used an icebreaker to get people talking. One other thing to check: I'm not sure whether any rooms have private bathrooms.

This didn't feel like a social hostel to me. People sat quietly in the common room on their devices, breakfast was silent, and there was no music or social programming. The staff were unhelpful and unfriendly. There's a TV in the common area, but apparently guests aren't allowed to use it. When I played music videos on YouTube, an employee called the music "crap" (Kieza Hideaway) and told me to turn it off. He assumed the other three guests didn't want to hear it, though one immediately said they didn't mind, and the other two had headphones on. He then played music from his laptop, without videos, and took the remote away and shut down YouTube. I was paying for the TV amenity. I like a game where people from different countries take turns putting on music videos from home. Everyone has fun with it. We played it at Pilot hostel, where the amenities were better, with free shots and a social hour every night. At least there are other hostels with events open to the public. The family dinners were flavorless, dry cafeteria food and overpriced at €15. I'd rather go to a real restaurant with people from the hostel. Also, there are murder spiders in the bathrooms. See pics!!!
