Essência Portuense Studios

Those blackout shades meant I slept like a baby every night, and the bedding was incredibly comfortable. The sheets and pillows felt luxurious. I also loved the simple, clean modern design, and the huge sliding door opened right onto the balcony and let in the fresh air. You’re just minutes from everything in the city center, so we never needed a taxi. The place is a hidden gem, and my trip was all the better for staying here. If you can get a room, go for it. Highly recommend!

The location is great, on a street lined with bars, restaurants and shops, and really close to Old Town. The apartment was so clean and beautiful. It’s the best place I’ve ever stayed in, so tasteful, with every little detail looking lovely. I already miss it.

We stayed almost a week and loved the place. I was unsure about booking because there were so few Google reviews, but it turned out to be a gem. It’s an unmanned accommodation, so if you want face-to-face interaction, this may not suit you. We were fine with that, and communication was excellent, with quick answers to every question. The studio was spacious, clean, and well equipped, including a kitchen we didn’t end up needing with so many restaurants nearby. All the key sights were walkable. You can hear the upstairs neighbour’s footsteps, though, and washing machines would be useful for longer stays. Otherwise, no complaints.

That green patio at the back was a nice place to unwind after sightseeing, and the room was bright, airy and had a very comfortable bed. I slept really well. The design of Essência Portuense is lovely, balancing elegance with comfort. It’s right in Cedofeita, a lively, safe neighbourhood with lots of character, shops, cafés and restaurants within walking distance. Porto’s main attractions are close, too. It felt like a home away from home, and I can’t wait to return.
