Gallery Hostel

The rooms are spacious, and the location is really good, close to the city center. I stayed in the 6 female dorm, which had plenty of shower and toilet space, two of each. Towels and soap were provided, and there are lockers. There's a TV room in the attic and a kitchen on the ground floor. One drawback: the floor makes a lot of noise when you walk on it, and it can get loud when there's another room above you.

The team were really friendly and kept the hostel super clean. I stayed in a mixed room for six, and the beds and pillows were the most comfortable I've had in a hostel. They had some evening activities scheduled, but I wasn't around to see them. It's not a party hostel, which suits me fine. Breakfast was delicious, though I'd have liked it to start at 7, or at least 7:30. It'd also help to have allergen information. I'm quite sure the breakfast pastries, including pastel de nata, contain lard, though it's not obvious. People who avoid pork for health, lifestyle, or religious reasons could be caught out since they look vegetarian.

It was a refreshing change to stay somewhere so clean, classy, and thoughtfully put together. The hostel's well designed, nicely laid out and decorated, and feels like it's for adults. The kitchen setup was a little odd, since it seemed mainly intended for guests who'd paid for breakfast, and part of it was under construction while I was there. I'd come back.

From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed warmly and shown around, and felt safe. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious, comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully designed. Breakfast had everything I needed, and the hostel was close to everything in this very walkable city. I was truly impressed. It felt like a hotel experience at a hostel price. This place deserves to be called Best Hostel in The World! Thanks so much to all the GH staff for the hard work. I'll be back!
