I’ve travelled to over 20 countries and haven’t seen a hotel this beautiful. Its charm, the lovely people, and the atmosphere really stood out. Everyone was kind and helpful, especially with our children, and Gaye at reception deserves a special thanks for her professionalism. Our family room was lovely and larger than it appeared in the photos. The old features have been renovated and are in excellent condition. We’d definitely return.

Breakfast was so good, and the hotel sits right on Rua de Santa Catarina, within walking distance of most major sights. We stayed at the Grande Hotel do Porto and couldn’t have asked for a better location in Porto. You won’t regret staying here.

The hotel has an attractive old-fashioned style and is clearly well maintained. Our twin room had plenty of space and a big sofa, though the side alley view wasn’t great and the lighting was far too dim. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was generally good, but the scrambled eggs weren’t. It’s right by the market, and since Santa Catarina is pedestrian-only, taxis leave you about two blocks away.

The room felt like a little retreat, and the lounges were just right for a nightcap. Breakfast was phenomenal, too. Thanks to Isabel and the team for making us feel so welcome. I’d rate the stay 11/10 and can’t wait to tell everyone back home about it!

Everyone was warm and friendly, and the service was exceptional. The location was great as well. My Standard Double Room was on the small side, and I would have chosen an upgrade if I’d known. Still, I highly recommend it.
