Guestready - Belle Epoque Apartments

The apartment’s location was great, the view was nice, and it was generally clean. But our vacation was spoiled by a string of problems. We checked in at 15:00, and at 15:25 got a message about a “last minute issue” with the toilet that couldn’t be fixed that day, with no further explanation. The flush button was broken, with two cables sticking out. When I asked how we were meant to use it, they said there was a bucket in the bathroom. They didn’t say whether it would be repaired the next day. There was mold in the shower, its base looked swollen and close to breaking, and the bathroom door had dried spots all over it and wouldn’t lock. The walls had water stains that looked like they might be from leaks. We could hear the neighbors loudly, and people moving around in nearby apartments even made the bed shake. It was hard to sleep, and without earplugs you won’t get a restful night.

The apartment itself was great, but getting in was a nightmare. The building entrance needs a code, and the room door has a second one, which should arrive by email. No email ever came, so I reached the door with no idea what to do. There was no correct phone number on the door or any website, and the booking platform couldn’t help or provide the hotel’s contact details. I spent over an hour trying to find the right number to call. The hotel should update the contact information on its sign by the door. The correct number is +351916915185.

Everything is close by from this city-centre location, so you don’t need public transport to see the sights. The place was perfect, clean, and fully furnished, and the host was great. Can recommend.

A very comfortable place in a perfect position for living in Oporto. They could be a little more generous with the essentials, though.
