We asked about switching to a private room, but they didn't have one. The staff did their best and put us in an eight-bed dorm by ourselves. Everyone was very kind, and we even had a short chat with the owner about some of the place's history. My boyfriend and I are traveling across Europe for three months and picked Happy Porto at random. Turns out we chose well. The location has a beautiful view of the water, and town is a quick walk away. The rooms were spotless and well kept. I'd really recommend this hostel if you're coming to porto. We'll definitely be back :)

The staff were attentive and polite, and the facilities were super clean. Happy Hostel sits right by the river, with a bus stop across the street for trips to the main train station or the ocean. You can walk to the city center, though the hostel isn't in the middle of the tourist area. That made it a good fit for travelers who want a peaceful neighborhood without being far away. I had a very positive stay and highly recommend it! 👏

A nice place to spend a few nights in Porto at a good price, especially for those doing the Camino. The hostel has a view of the city's main river and offers breakfast, stay essentials, and helpful support. It's well placed for both Sao Bento train station and the beach.

Paulo, the owner, and his team were wonderful, and the service felt warm and welcoming. This is a cozy, safe hostel, well connected to transport, with food, sights, shops, and activities within walking distance. I'll come back and stay here again!

I had a great 16 days at Happy Porto. It's easy to get around on foot, the rooms and bathrooms were very clean, and the staff were kind and considerate. If you're traveling solo to Porto, I'd definitely book here.
