The location is right in the center, yet the apartment sits on a quiet street. You can reach the main street in two minutes, and there was no noise at night. The place was clean and very nice, with a spacious bathroom. Hugo was communicative and helpful, and the welcome port wine was a nice touch. As a woman traveling alone, I felt safe the whole time. I'd absolutely stay again.

The location is very good, though the street was noisy both day and night. During the day, construction three houses away brought dust everywhere, and we had to keep the windows shut. Workers started around 7:30am, moving materials; a crane and stone blocks nearly blocked the whole street leading to the apartment. The neighboring buildings on both sides are vacant and dilapidated, which didn't help with the dust or bugs. At night, crowds and, surprisingly, seagulls made it noisy because of the central location. It's an old building, so the furniture is minimal and about three-star quality. I stayed two days. On July 6th, after seeing Hugo's reply, I wanted to clarify a few things to give fellow travelers accurate information. Hugo was right that the interior had been renovated to a three-star level, and there were enough plates, cups, tissues, and so on. The towels could have been cleaner. The adjacent vacant buildings, the location, and the construction three houses away are outside the host's control. I don't know when the work will finish, and I'm not pretending to know. I could see one side of the building without walls, so it can't be finished while that side is still missing walls. The crane and stone blocks also obstructed access to the street.

Hugo is a great host and keeps you updated before and after your visit. The apartment is very central, near torre del clerigos, and works well as a base for seeing all the sites. Just watch the stairs, they're steep, but they'll keep you fit. Very nice place. I'll be back.

Cosy and nice, right in the middle of the city.

The service was excellent, especially compared with what I've had elsewhere, and there's a lot to like about the layout. The room has several areas, a comfortable bed with a good mattress and generous size, and everything needed for cooking. The location is great, and even without a reception desk, service was excellent. Still, some details felt neglected. Tiles and furniture are chipped, with some patches and some holes, and the floor was dusty enough that I wore slippers. The sofa is worn and feels like boards in places. The coffee machine works, but the coffee isn't good. The toilet flush button had an issue, and the windows only look into a narrow well. Lighting and ventilation were surprisingly okay, though there was nothing to see outside. The bed linen had marks like dirty clothespins, perhaps dye from clothes rather than actual dirt. Wi-Fi was acceptable on phones at the kitchen table, but didn't work on my MacBook there. I had to use the sofa or bed, where the connection reached a fantastic half-gigabit, no sarcasm. For the price, location, and amenities, I can recommend it, but these minor, non-critical issues kept it from getting five stars.
