Hostel Alegria

The two brothers who own and run the hostal were very helpful. Breakfast is included, and there’s an adequate kitchen and dining room. The rooms have four bunks each, with six rooms in total. The lodgings are excellent. The downside is the location, 2 kilometres from the centre. It’s an easy walk downhill, but uphill all the way back, so remember the return trip when sightseeing.

The room was big, but the corridor smelled like a church. The safety boxes at reception didn’t feel secure either. If you pull one a little harder, it opens.

The room was clean, and so were the towels and sheets. We stayed for three nights and only ate breakfast once. It’s a basic hostel, though our room was huge. There’s no TV, no cabinets, and maybe no heater, but there are drawers. The toilet and bath are separate, upstairs, and there’s also a toilet downstairs. I wish we’d had a TV. We came in autumn and it was cold. Don’t expect much at breakfast: butter, bread, yogurt, coffee, and cereal. You have to prepare everything yourself and clean up as you go. The owner, I think, was nice and helpful. There’s a nearby restaurant, and the ground floor has a nice terrace where you can smoke and relax.

The hostel was clean, and the staff were friendly. The only annoying thing was the complete lack of soundproofing. Avoid a room near the washroom because you can hear almost everything. Apart from that, all good.
