Nice Way Porto Hostel

The hostel has a friendly feel, kind staff, and a nice common room. Breakfast is decent for the price, and drinks aren’t expensive either. There’s lots of good food nearby and plenty to see. The building has rooms on the fourth and fifth floors, while the hostel reception is on the third. The elevator wasn’t working during my stay, so all those stairs were good practice for Porto’s hills, but a bit rough after a full day out.

The staff were really accommodating, the rooms were clean, and the common area made it easy to meet people. It’s also super convenient for the nearby attractions. One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in, and I’d happily recommend it to anyone visiting Porto. There’s outside noise by the windows at almost any time of day because it’s so central, so bring earplugs or something.

There were bedbugs in our room. Some beds had black dots on them, but the staff didn’t seem to care. We had to find an actual bedbug before they finally admitted there was a problem. They also said it wasn’t their fault. Don’t spend your money here.

It’s right in the city centre, with good public transport and the sights within walking distance. The staff were excellent, kind, and always ready to help, and the free coffee was a treat. The common room was well kept, the Wi-Fi was good, and they gave us cards for the building and dorm entry. The bathrooms were surprisingly clean and had hairdryers to use. The dorm was clean enough, but felt cramped with everyone in it. The floorboards squeaked when people walked, which made sleeping difficult for light sleepers. The elevator was out of order most of the time, and the stairs were a little steep. For the money, it felt worthwhile, especially for solo travelers who are out all day and mainly need the dorm to sleep.
