Hotel Chique

For a two stars hotel, it's very good. This seems like a traditional place that has kept its beautiful history, and you can feel it as soon as you walk in and ride the elevator. Lina at reception was so nice and friendly, and the guy on the pm shift was very friendly too. The room was clean, with a beautiful view of the center of Oporto. Perfect location, close to the bus station and the metro.

It's great that the hotel is very close to the metro, and the view is nice. The location also makes it a bit noisy. For a downtown hotel in such a touristy city as Porto, it was strange that not all receptionists spoke even a little English. Everyone was nice, but the language issue made things more difficult. The rooms didn't seem worth the price.

The location is a huge plus, and the welcoming staff were nice. It's an older hotel, but still clean and comfortable. Breakfast is simple, though adequate for the price. The main drawback is the sound insulation, especially from outside. Sometimes you can hear noise from the busy Avenida dos Aliados. It was a nice experience.

The room and hotel were clean, with fresh towels and sheets and a nice view. Our arrival, though, started badly. The receptionist was angry that we'd come early and wanted to leave our bags, and didn't even say hello. She was much nicer later and tried to chat, but that first impression had already spoiled our mood. If you're on a budget and don't mind rude staff, this hotel is highly recommended.
