Líbere Porto Laranjais

We had a two-bedroom apartment for six nights in early February and appreciated having space to unwind after exploring Porto. The location was terrific, close enough to walk to the waterfront and also near shopping streets that felt less touristy. Staff were helpful, especially Mitz, who got my eSIM working with my Portuguese number. We could also leave our bags in a locker until check-in. The apartment was cute, and the floor-to-ceiling windows had interior shutters that kept out light, cold and street noise. Sheer curtains would have let us keep some light while maintaining privacy. The big bedside lamps looked stylish, but left little space for a book, phone or water glass. There was nowhere to put shampoo or a razor in the shower except on the floor. The first towels were lovely and thick, but after three or four days they were replaced with smaller, thinner ones. Bring a washcloth if you use one, as there wasn't one provided. And the kitchen bin was tiny, probably under three litres. We'd stay again, with our own washcloths and an extra rubbish bag.

Getting around was easy, and Uber was quick to find and cheaper than public transport. Nearby, there's a laundromat open until 2300hrs, with pleasantly scented detergent included, and doing laundry there was affordable. A supermarket is right next door for everyday supplies. There are also plenty of places to eat around here, including Thai, Indian and Chinese restaurants and a local diner with lots of dishes at very affordable prices. Just be careful with travel adapters: ours didn't fit properly, and the shop doesn't offer refunds, so test one before you buy it. This was the best accommodation I've stayed in. It's a one-room place, but an absolute gem.

I read the book about Alameda street that was left in the room and was impressed by how much research and care had gone into the hotel. The whole story wall caught my attention, and the interior and furniture are beautiful. There's a kitchen with pretty much everything for cooking, plus a comfortable bed. I really liked the design and concept. The location is hard to beat, near Aliados metro station and close to nearly everything. I'd happily return to Libere Porto Laranjais, maybe in summer next time. December felt a bit cold, and I had to keep the air conditioner running.

We stayed in 339, floor 2, apartment 6. It was lovely, with a calm atmosphere in the evening once all the lights were on. During the day, though, there wasn't much natural light, which might bother someone staying longer than we did. The walls were a little thin: we could hear the neighbours' shower and heavy footsteps from upstairs, but no conversation. The apartment was gorgeous, very clean and beautifully decorated, with lots of thoughtful details that made it feel luxurious. The location was ideal. We'd absolutely recommend it to friends and family and would come back.
