We were only passing by when this cute place caught our eye. We realized it was just the kind of spot we’d been looking for to taste Porto wine. Paula, the owner, was amazing, such a lovely woman. When we come back to Porto, we’ll definitely make this a stop. Highly recommended.

We came back because the white Sangrias were so good. The cheese and meat boards were wonderful too, and Paula was the most charming host. Easily the best white Sangrias in Porto. We stayed somewhere else, so I can’t comment on the accommodation.

The black mold on the headboard and walls, along with the damp air, an uncomfortable mattress, and bad pillows, made it a nightmare to sleep. I barely rested, and we ended up leaving partway through our stay for a cleaner, more sanitary place. The room swung between hot and cold during the day, and the bathroom had no light or ventilation. It’s an older hostel with a classic look, right in the middle of everything. It’s run down, with water stains and chipped paint, but that wasn’t my issue. I’ve stayed in plenty of hostels, including a different one every night while doing the Camino de Santiago, and never anywhere like this. Linha22 may be affordable for budget travelers, but don’t trade your health for a couple of dollars.

My husband and I stopped at Linha 22 for a glass of green wine. It’s a cute little wine bar, and the wine was great. A lovely spot for a drink and a snack!
