Lusitana Hotel

The rooms were comfortable, notably clean, and the staff were very friendly. I also liked the location, especially if you’d rather stay away from the noise by the river. One small but frustrating issue was the toilet paper. There were two of us, both on our periods, so we needed more than usual and worried each day about getting by on a single roll. We asked reception for extra, but the room was still given just one roll each day. Aside from that, I’d gladly come back to Porto and stay here again.

We had a pleasant two-night stay and no complaints. The top-floor twin room was clean and comfortable, with the listed facilities and a view over the hotel’s rear garden and patio. Check-in was easy, and the staff were nice. There’s a small lounge behind the foyer, with access to the garden, plus open circular stairs. I didn’t see a lift. Cafes and restaurants are nearby, and the attractions are a pleasant 10-15 minute walk away. Crystal park is close too, and worth visiting for its tree-covered paths and river views. I’d happily stay here again.

The rooms feel a bit tired, but the location is great and the parking deal is a real plus.

Fernande and the rest of the staff were really welcoming and helpful. They even brought a kettle to our room, although it isn’t normally included. They also showed real decency by letting us know we’d left things behind at the hotel, so we could collect them on our way back. I was surprised that you can reserve a room by calling the hotel with your dates and room needs, without paying at the time. It’s in a quiet spot near the historic center, and there’s a small, cozy patio with two tables where you can sit with a laptop, eat something, or take a break from the busy tourist city. The photos show a single room on the second floor facing the street and a double room overlooking the courtyard. The same room one floor up, on the top floor, has its own balcony. For the price and quality, I’d give it a five.
