Maria, the manager, made us feel cared for from the moment we arrived. She was always around when we needed help, without ever intruding, and her kindness and humility really stood out. Maria da Sé Historic House is a lovely mix of historic character and modern comfort. Our room was spotless, quiet, and tastefully decorated, and the property was beautifully maintained. Breakfast was fresh and varied, served in a pleasant place where it was easy to slow down and enjoy it. The Cathedral and the lively center of Porto are just steps away, while the area itself is peaceful after a day out exploring. We spent four wonderful days here and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone after an authentic, refined, and personal stay. Maria is a wonderful host who made the visit a treasured memory. We’ll definitely return, with our hearts already a little bit there.

Having our own private view of Porto from the studio was one of the best parts of our four nights with Maria. The rooms are simple and clean, and it was great value. Breakfast was delightful and gave us a chance to chat with the other travelers staying with Maria. We appreciated the complimentary port wine and the fresh towels each day. The guesthouse is on a quiet street right outside the main attractions, so the location was hard to beat. The stairs were challenging, as others have mentioned, but they’re part of the charm.

We had a really good time at this cute little hotel. The woman who prepared breakfast each morning was great. Its location is amazing if you want to enjoy a good spot in Porto.

The rooms were clean, nice, and practical, though a little small. They were enough for sleeping, since there’s plenty to see and do nearby. The guesthouse is right in the heart of Porto, and most main sights are an easy 10-15 minute walk away.

Maria and Martha went out of their way to help us enjoy our stay. The place is right in the city center, surrounded by great cafes and restaurants. I couldn’t recommend it more, and if I visit Porto again, I’ll definitely stay here.
