My Sweet Ribeira

The hotel is chic and beautiful, and the room had plenty of space, a kitchen, utensils and toiletries, so it felt like a home away from home. Breakfast was included and quite good, and the staff were accommodating. It’s conveniently close to the bridge, a popular tourist spot, and the drop-off point right outside meant no long walk with luggage. There’s no elevator, though, and my room was on the fourth floor. I should have checked before booking, but those stairs left me winded each time. I wouldn’t recommend it for older guests.

The cafe downstairs was wonderful, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. We stayed several days in this guest house, close to local attractions. Our room was very comfortable, nicely decorated and extremely clean.

The room was spotless, with distinctive stone walls, an unusual speaker and a view of the tunnel. We were close to the river and everything else, though passing cars made it a bit noisy. The staff were all kind and lovely, and the kitchen came fully stocked with plates, glasses, cups, utensils, pots and pans, plus a wine opener ;) One of the best guest houses I’ve stayed in. Highly recommended!

No elevator and a busy street are the two things to bear in mind, but we still think this Guest House is well worth it. We had a delightful 5 day stay. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable, and the location was perfect. The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful, suggesting excellent restaurants and helping us arrange a Douro tour.
