The apartment was spotless, and check-in went smoothly. The bed and pillows were 10/10, hotel-level comfortable! It was a little noisy with the street right there, but closing the windows took care of it. There was coffee and an equipped kitchen, though we didn't need to use it. The apartment is by the Infante Dom Henrique Bridge. A five-minute walk gets you to the Dom Luís I Bridge, but you can get some nice views and pictures from the former.
The proprietor did his best. The restaurants down at the bottom of the hill are all uphill!
We stood on the doorstep for 15 minutes while they got organized enough to buzz us in. Don't rent here if you don't like the smell of car exhaust.
Good value for the money, with kind, helpful management. The location, facilities, and comfort were all great. Recommended!
The apartment was clean apart from someone else’s hair on the hairdryer cord and in a shower corner. But the mold smell was strong throughout the place, so we opened the windows as soon as we got back. The bathroom barely ventilates: its old, dirty fan only runs when the light is on, and there was mold near it and in the shower grout from the constant damp. The windows themselves are good, and the air conditioning worked well. The bed sagged when we both lay on it, and it was very soft. The pillows were really hard. We were only there for three full days and had asked for no cleaning, but one morning a cleaner knocked and tried to come in before we could respond. I was getting dressed and just managed to tell her not to enter. She came in anyway to leave two laundry bags, probably in the storage space under the sofa, then went straight out. The location is fairly central, though the street is busy and people honk from very early in the morning.
