Oca Vitória Village

The room was nice and the location clearly works, but the facilities were a letdown. The sauna was out of order and nobody had told us. The so-called Turkish bath went between warm and cold, and the gym was awful, with barely any equipment and an ancient treadmill. Definitely unsuitable if you want to work out. We'd also agreed on the total net room price in advance, yet staff made us pay extra. We had to leave for the airport and couldn't spend time arguing. That was unacceptable and unprofessional for a four-star hotel. Extremely disappointing.

Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a small kitchen that would be handy for cooking. The building seemed to still be under renovation, though we didn't hear any construction. It was generally quiet, but sound carried through the rooms since they aren't very soundproof. The layout took a moment to figure out: the main entrance is through the Flores hotel, and Victoria Village is in a separate building behind it. That setup was convenient because we didn't have to walk uphill to the Victoria Village Hotel entrance. It was a good stay.

The spa and Turkish bath looked promising, though I didn't try either myself. We stayed three nights in a lovely, well-presented, spacious room, and breakfast was delicious. It has the feel of a premium hotel, and the price reflects that.

We stayed in the Vilas, where the rooms were clean and roomy, and there were large outdoor areas. Breakfast was good and the spa was really nice. Staff were very friendly, too. Most of the old town sights are within walking distance, so it's a great base for sightseeing.
