Oporto Trendy River

A comfortable apartment in a really convenient spot for exploring Porto. We had a great stay at Oporto Trendy River.

Waking up right by the river was a real treat. My wife and I could head out for a morning workout before the kids were up. We were travelling with three children, and the apartment worked well for our family. One of them slept on the fold-out couch. The only snag was the water pressure: two people can’t shower at once without it dropping too much.

The location is great, but I wouldn’t book this again. The building has very little soundproofing, and the hotel booking platform I used didn’t mention quiet hours. I checked the platform three times, but the rules were posted inside the house. I was there with my family, my daughter-in-law and my husband, and we aren’t party people. While we watched TV in the living room and walked back and forth, the owner called, screaming that there had been noise complaints from the people downstairs. The neighbours also made noise during the morning quiet hours. We’d flown from the USA and were dealing with jet lag, but we didn’t complain because we understood the house was made of wood. They called me from an international number, which cost me a surcharge.

The room had a nice view, just like the photo, and the riverfront location was good. I spent three nights there with my husband for our honeymoon. The host was kind, and the air conditioning and elevator were good. There’s no reception lounge, so you have to contact the host on WhatsApp. There was no cleaning service, and the towels weren’t enough for several days, so I had to request more through the app. We got just one Nespresso capsule.
