We really enjoyed our stay, and the owners were accommodating and helpful. The location worked well, and breakfast was a small continental buffet. The homemade apple hal was delicious. Our room was spotless, with modern details and a very comfortable bed, in a cosy little hotel that had recently been renovated in central Porto. A couple of things were missing: there was a kettle and cups, but no tea or coffee, and our friends couldn't use their TV because it was locked. We could only watch Netflix. Since nobody is at the hotel from 5pm until morning, those problems couldn't be sorted out. The bigger drawback was the street noise from bars staying open late. Ear plugs were provided. We were there on a Saturday, so maybe it would be calmer during the week. We'd still recommend staying here.

We weren't told when we booked that our room was right above a live music venue. The bands were painfully loud until after midnight on Friday and beyond 2am on Saturday.

The couple who run the place were so helpful and kind, and that made our stay even better. The rooms have been renovated recently and look lovely. It's right in the city centre, near the nightlife as well as the historic sights. We'd definitely recommend it.

The room itself was interesting, though I imagine it would be more comfortable in summer. Their heating system just doesn't manage to warm it properly. The bar is right above the room, as expected, but the noise carries late and there's no sound insulation. What made this a negative stay for me was the trouble over getting a second towel. Their booking system had listed one guest, even though the price was the same for one or two. Support then said I would have to pay €30 for another towel. The attendant, Marie, showed no understanding and kept saying I wouldn't get one unless I paid. I spent nearly three hours sorting it out, including having to involve the booking platform.
