Porto Republica Hostel & Suites

We loved our five-night stay in a private bunk-bed room with a small balcony, table and two chairs. It was strikingly clean, quiet, safe and spacious, and the whole team gave excellent service. When we arrived tired and starving, they helped us find good food and sangria in the neighborhood. They also called us a taxi for our 5am departure. The staff were discreet as well as friendly, helpful and hardworking. The clean bedding and towels were a plus, including a new set of cen towels on day 3, and breakfast was a real bonus. I'd definitely come back and would recommend this as a safe place for women.

The lounge was lovely, and I liked the roomy bathrooms and cute kitchen. It’s about a 10 minute walk to the center, and the beds were comfortable. The receptionists were helpful on both morning and night shifts. Andrè kept things quiet overnight so sleeping guests wouldn’t be disturbed, which I really appreciated, and he helped me arrange a taxi to the airport. They’ll store your bags after checkout, too. If you have luggage, ask for a ground-floor room. I’d stay here again.

We had a really spacious, clean studio with everything we needed. The area was quiet, and the center of Porto was only about a 10 minute walk away. Just be aware of the stairs: we arrived late and ended up on the top floor, which was quite a climb. If stairs are difficult for you, request a lower room.

Our private double room was on the small side, but it had what we needed. The building is beautiful, breakfast is included, and the staff are friendly. There was quite a bit of noise from other guests at night, so bring earplugs.
