Great base for exploring downtown Porto on foot. The rooms were good, the shower pressure was like a fire hose, and the continental breakfast was very good.

I booked the wrong dates at Porto Royal Bridges Hotel by mistake, March instead of September 2026, and contacted my travel agent, Agoda, within minutes. Agoda tried to reach the hotel but got no answer, then emailed asking for approval to cancel or change the booking. I also contacted the hotel through its website. After more than 24 hours without a response, I followed up with Agoda’s message attached. The hotel replied the next morning and refused to help because the reservation was “non-refundable,” although I’d reported the error right away and offered to move the booking to the correct dates. Travelers should double-check their dates carefully. The no-refund or change policy seems unreasonable in a case like this. My one-star rating is based solely on the customer service I experienced.

A modern little hotel with great service, close to everything. It took about 2 minutes to walk here from the train station, and we could get to the other places we needed within another 5 minutes. Breakfast was great, and they’ll make omelettes if you ask.

The hotel surprised us with a bottle of wine, a small cake, and birthday wishes for my partner that afternoon. It was much appreciated. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and we’ll recommend the place to friends and family visiting Porto. The room was comfortable and had no traffic noise, even though the hotel sits where a one-way street meets a pedestrian street. Most sights are an easy walk or metro ride away. Breakfast had a great range of hot and cold dishes, and we especially liked the Pastel de Nata and local breakfast cheese tarts that actually taste like orange.

I came with my aunt for a couple of nights, and the service was spectacular. They were accommodating with everything and offered to help when she lost her phone. The drinks were good, the rooms were clean, the shower pressure was AMAZING, and it smelled great. For a first Porto visit, the location is handy, with the best restaurants around and the furthest sights no more than a 15 minute walk away. We had a great stay.
