Pousada Porto Rua das Flores

The room was a bit small and quite dark, with little natural light, but we had a lovely stay. It’s a beautifully restored and decorated building on a pedestrian street, close to the sights, restaurants and station. The staff were friendly and helpful, and it was handy having leisure facilities on site.

Our superior room, 3306, was at the back overlooking the courtyard, just as I’d requested for a quiet room. It was lovely and very quiet, and housekeeping cleaned it to a high standard every day. We stayed for a week and could have used more wardrobe space. Breakfast was good too, with hot and cold choices, pastries, fruit and everything you could want. The hotel is right in the centre, so we could walk to all the sights. Would highly recommend.

The breakfast is simple but really good, and the service there was amazing. Everyone was kind and helpful, and they went out of their way for my little son by making him a cake. A big thank you to Thiago and the chef, Anna? The hotel is cozy and in a lovely location, with plenty of things within walking distance.

We came for a four-night city break, and the suite we’d upgraded to had wonderful city views from two sides. It was spotless and serviced every day. The bathroom was small, but perfectly adequate and just as clean. The busy pedestrian street could be noisy with the windows open during the day and early evening, but shut them and it was completely silent, even for a very light sleeper like me. The air con was also quiet and worked well. Breakfast was amazing, with lots of choice and wonderful service. The staff were lovely, and nothing was too much trouble. We arrived at 11am, well before normal check-in, planning just to leave our bags as the hotel had said we could. Our room had already been prepared and was ready. I can’t wait to come back, and I’ll be looking at other Pousada hotels too.
