Residencial Dom Duarte I

The place was clean, well located, and good value, and the staff were friendly. They had run out of mineral water when I asked, but that's okay. Good experience overall.

The room and bathroom were clean, but the rooms themselves weren't much to write home about. The bathroom was tiny, and there was no toothbrush, toothpaste, or hair dryer, though we did get towels and small shampoo and soap packets. The hotel is well placed near lots of restaurants and within walking distance of attractions. Staff were very friendly and spoke English well. It's not a great hotel, but the price felt fair, and I'd stay again if I came back to Porto.

The building is very old and clearly hasn't been renovated in a long time, but for a night or two it was acceptable. The room and bathroom were clean, though very basic, and luckily there was a fan. It's in a fairly quiet area, so nights were restful. There's no lift, which could be difficult for anyone with mobility issues.

The room was spacious, pleasant, and very clean. It was a little cold because the weather was unusual for that time of year, so they brought us a heater. We had requested a private bathroom, but its doors had windows, leaving the whole bathroom visible from the room, which I didn't like. Apart from that, it was great, and we'd certainly return. The location is excellent, very close to Se cathedral. Not all the staff speak English well, but everyone was helpful and tried to make us comfortable.
