Pretty nice.

We were able to leave our luggage, and the staff were very kind. The rooms were spacious for the price, and everything was very clean. It's easy to get around on foot from here, with the city center all downhill; Faria station is only a few meters away for the metro back. There was some noise in the mornings, and at night we could hear guests coming up the stairs.

We lost half a day in August finding another hotel at much higher prices after the manager’s access ramp was gone. He’d explicitly warned us on the phone when we booked that the rooms could only be reached by six steps, then claimed he’d forgotten the call. That left us without wheelchair access, and he seemed dishonest and careless about the problem. The hotel is also far from the city center and has no parking. I’d avoid it.

We were comfortable for our seven days in Porto, and the very clean place had really comfortable beds. The price was excellent, and breakfast was very good, especially the plentiful, extraordinary coffee Porto is known for. The location got us close to the center, though Porto has several areas people call the center. São Bento Station is a seven-minute walk, Aliados five minutes, Clérigos Tower eight, and the Douro River about 15-20 minutes. There’s a metro stop right outside and a larger hub a little farther along. Thanks for the kindness and hospitality at the Fonseca Cardoso residential complex. Porto is a beautiful city with so much to explore, and we had a great time there.
