Residencial Marfim

The staff were nice, but that wasn't enough to make it a restful stay. The room was really noisy, with cars audible all night as if we were sleeping out on the road. The mattresses felt like sleeping right on the floor, and weren't comfortable at all. With no ventilation in the bathroom, it stayed wet all day.

We paid for a double bed and got that plus a single one, more than I expected. The furniture gives the place an authentic feel, and the location is good. The staff were friendly. Portugal can be rainy in winter, so try not to visit then.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and I liked the atmosphere. It’s fairly close to the city center, too. But the place is old, with doors that were hard to open and sinks that didn’t work properly. My room had no trash can, the Wi-Fi didn’t work, and there were roly-poly bugs in the toilet, which made me think something was rotting.

Our basement room felt a bit like a dungeon, with a street-level window and far too many beds for the space. There were loose wires on the floor and mould on the bathroom ceiling. It may have been clean, but it didn’t feel that way, so I’m not sure you get what you pay for.
