We were very happy with our choice for the week, though next time we might look for somewhere more central in Porto. The apartment has an incredible view and is handy for the Douro riverside, while evenings were still quiet. Getting to other parts of Porto or Gaia means climbing plenty of stairs. RVA replied to messages quickly throughout our 7-night trip to Portugal. We picked up the key at the RVA office, conveniently placed between the metro station and the apartment, and found the staff there friendly and professional. Our one-bedroom apartment was a little small, but had what we needed. The kitchen was well equipped, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was very nice, though there’s no bathtub. They changed the linens and towels halfway through without us asking. The kitchen and living area has a glass door at the back but no window, so you have to choose between privacy and natural light.

A Bolina, the little restaurant right downstairs, had good food and sangria. The place was clean and secure, in a great spot between Porto and Gaia. There are stairs to climb to reach the rest of Porto, but it wasn’t bad for someone moderately fit. It’s beside a road, so city noise could bother you if you’re not used to it. Anyone who’s lived downtown or in a city before should be fine. Highly recommend.

We were two couples in the top-floor apartment. It’s been refurbished with good taste and is ideally placed on the riverfront, near the bridge and just a couple of minutes’ walk from Cais Ribeira. The Funicular up to the town centre is handy too. We’d recommend the apartment, though the listing should mention there’s no lift. That was fine for us, but might not suit everyone. Reception staff were charming and helpful, from giving us information before and during the stay to handling all our requests.

The decor was lovely and the staff were lovely too. Remember to call them 30 minutes ahead to arrange your arrival. I’d recommend the place and will definitely use it again.

Really nice apartment in a great location! It could use more bed pillows, but I highly recommend it.
