The view over the Douro River and nearby architecture is special, and the location is wonderfully central while still being on a fairly quiet street. Sao Domingos Stylish Apartment has an easy layout and access, with thoughtful design and original features. We loved our stay overall. There are lots of great photos, but we’ve also attached pictures of the visible mould and damaged paintwork so you can judge the maintenance for yourself. We told the managing agent LovelyStay about it and never heard back. For a property that gets so much use, maintenance needs more attention. With regular care, this apartment could be outstanding. Such a shame.

The interior is beautiful and tastefully designed, and everything was clean. From this very central spot, you can get to almost anywhere in the city center within a 10-minute walk. I would have appreciated finding hand soap or shower gel. There’s a coffee machine, but no pods provided by the owner, and there’s no freezer.

It was remarkably quiet for a place on a busy street, with excellent soundproofing, so I didn’t hear a thing while sleeping. The location made it easy to get around, and downstairs there’s a popular egg tart shop and a popular beef sandwich shop. The apartment was modern, comfortable, and fully equipped, with a refrigerator, TV, and two bathrooms. At 70 euros a night in the off-season, it was excellent value. One of the best vacation apartments I’ve stayed in.

The location is good, but the apartment itself is old. The kitchen can’t really be used because it lacks utensils, and the bathroom is moldy and looks unclean. I can’t recommend it.
