Suite Porto

For the price, the room was decent. Getting to Porto city centre takes quite a while.

The location is handy for shops and markets, with public transport nearby for getting into central Porto. The house was excellent, and so was the room. The owners are lovely, and Sra Liliana is an angel who makes you feel at home. I’ll definitely come back.

The hosts were friendly, and the setup is well equipped, with a great kitchen and a balcony in the room. The location worked well too, near the metro and bus stop, and within walking distance of several places. The nearest market is 700m away. Two drawbacks: the bathroom is cramped and outside the room, so it isn’t an en suite, and the mattress in our room was old, uneven, and not very comfortable.

It was a hassle to find out there was no card payment option, which I’d missed when booking. I also woke up bitten by something, though I don’t think it was mosquitoes. The room was clean and adequate, but the low ceiling on one side made it less comfortable. It felt dark too, with just one window under the roof that kept the sun out. The bathroom was clean and fine, and the shower always had hot water. There wasn’t much space to unpack because the closets were crammed with treasures. The decor was very old-fashioned.
